COVID-19 Vaccination programme – update
Since the start of the vaccination programme in December 2020 we have played a key role in the delivery of more than 32,000 COVID vaccinations whilst maintaining delivery of core services. In order to now focus our resources on the provision of core services, we are not currently running a Covid-19 vaccination service through our practice.
Please find information below for patients on how to access vaccine services locally.
Awaiting first dose?
Once eligible, patients will be invited by the National Booking Service to book an appointment at one of the local Vaccination Centres or Pharmacy sites online or by calling 119.
For people under 40 without other health conditions, it's currently advised that it's preferable to have another COVID-19 vaccine instead of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. You can find out further information in the latest patient information leaflet.
Awaiting second dose?
Any patient who received their first dose at Lakeside Surgery, Corby but has not yet taken up their invite for their second dose, can book their appointment online or by calling 119.
You will be asked for your name, postcode and NHS number (patients can still book if do not have this) and then you will be offered a choice of appointments at one of the local Vaccination Centres or Pharmacy sites that is offering the same vaccine as you received for your first dose.
JCVI guidance recommends you receive your second dose between eight and 12 weeks after your first dose. However, if it has been over 12 weeks you are still encouraged to book an appointment to receive your second dose to ensure you have maximum protection.
The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective and protects you and those around you. It’s the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history and has already saved thousands of lives by preventing the spread of Covid-19. Please book your second dose today.
