Growing a career with Lakeside
Laurren Farrell is growing her career with Lakeside Healthcare Group and is about to start her third role with us in six years.
She was first employed as a receptionist at Corby, before moving to our Central Team as an HR administrator. Now she is returning to the Cottingham Road Practice as management support, working closely with Emma Downs, Teri White and Mandy Black.
She said: ‘It was definitely challenging working on reception but I wanted to extend my skills and HR is a wide-ranging role. I was really supported to make the move as Emma, Teri and Mandy all want to develop their staff. They know when you are ready to move and will help if they feel it is the right move for you.’
Laurren has enjoyed the contrast between working in a single practice and as part of the Central Team supporting all the practices across our Group: ‘It is a totally different atmosphere dealing with patients at site compared with working centrally, but both have their advantages. Working in the Central Team has given me a whole different insight into the operational workings of the Group, which you don't necessarily appreciate when you work at site level.
‘I have enjoyed working in the Central Team and have been involved in lots of aspects of HR. My colleague, Ashleigh, was a great trainer and this job has given me the confidence to start, yet again, on a new challenge with Lakeside. I have loved it here but Cottingham Road feels like home! There will be lots of aspects that I will have to learn so there is more development in store!’
