Our GPs join Corby Women’s Health and Wellbeing Event
It was a pleasure for two of our GPs to support the Women’s Health and Wellbeing event at Beanfield Community Centre on Saturday, organise by Lee Barron, MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire.
The community event brought together local women, families, voluntary groups, health services and campaigners to encourage open conversations about women’s health and wellbeing. It gave people the opportunity to meet local organisations, take part in activities and find out more about the support available across Corby.
Our GPs spoke with people attending the event about a range of women’s health topics, including menopause, HRT, contraception and cervical screening. Where attendees were registered with Lakeside Healthcare Corby and Brigstock Surgeries, they were also able to talk about the services available through their GP practice, including our Women’s Health Hub and HRT Group Consultation Sessions.

Dr Shalini Singh said: “It was lovely to meet so many women from across the local community and hear about the topics that are important to them. We spoke about menopause, HRT and the support available through our Women’s Health Hub, including our HRT Group Consultation Sessions for registered patients.”
Dr Fadzai Kanyangarara said: “We had some really positive conversations about contraception, cervical screening and the importance of coming forward for support when you have a question or concern. Events like this help people feel more informed, comfortable and supported to seek advice when they need it.”
If you are registered with us, support is available for menopause and HRT, contraception, cervical screening and other women’s health concerns. Please contact your GP practice if you would like advice or want to discuss the right support for you.
