Supporting people experiencing homelessness in Corby
Last week, we hosted a Healthy Outreach Support Team (HOST) event at Lakeside Surgery in Corby, working with the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team at North Northamptonshire Council to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
People were able to speak to a GP for clinical support and assessments, as well as our Social Prescribing Team for help with matters like housing and finances. Support was also available from Mind, Stop Smoking services and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). We also spoke to people about wider health and wellbeing support, including how our social prescribing team can help connect them to local services and support.
Hannah Taylor, Senior Housing Options Advisor, North Northamptonshire Council, said: “Thank you so much, and it really goes to show what a positive impact it has on our most vulnerable.”
Katie Clarke, Digital Transformation Manager Rockingham Forest PCN, said: “Events like this help us reach people who may not otherwise access services, and make it easier to get support in one place.”
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping, support is available. Please contact the practice or speak to a member of our team.Last week, we hosted a Healthy Outreach Support Team (HOST) event at Lakeside Surgery in Corby, working with the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team at North Northamptonshire Council to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
