MP visits Lakeside Corby

Members of Lakeside’s Executive team welcomed local MP Tom Pursglove to Corby’s Cottingham Road site for a fact-finding meeting.

He was especially interested to hear about Lakeside, Forest Gate, Brigstock and Oundle surgeries as they are in his Corby and East Northants constituency.

Chair, Dr Sanjay Gadhia, Medical Director, Dr Afraz Sheikh and Operations Director, Emma Downs, shared statistics about workload, capacity and staffing while Mr Pursglove spoke about issues raised by his constituents.

Afterwards Dr Afraz Sheikh said: ‘We spoke about the pressures in Primary Care locally and nationally and the initiatives that we are putting in, both at site and across our Partnership to provide the best service that we can, given the demand. We recently conducted a survey with our own patients and will also use data from the recently released National GP Survey to continue to inform strategies, working practices and recruitment. We are all committed to providing the best service for our communities and this meeting was a way of sharing data and information to facilitate that.’
