New Lakeside Corby Appointment System

In response to feedback from patients and in order to use GP time more efficiently, we are preparing to make changes to the appointment system.

From Monday 7th August, half of our appointments will be bookable on the day and the remainder will be pre-bookable. We know that the phone lines are busy in the mornings and we will stagger some of the book on day appointments to help patients access to these appointments throughout the day.

 If your GP is off sick, or unavailable for some reason, we also want to avoid cancelling your appointments. If we need your appointment will be moved into a book on the day appointment so that patients do not get turned away.

If you require a home visit because you are housebound, you will receive a call back from a GP first so we can gather more information and decide who is most appropriate health care professional to come out and visit you.

If you are waiting on test results, your GP or nurse will continue to call you if there is something relating to the result that needs to be discussed.

Our reception team will soon undertake the county-wide care navigation training that has been set up to help non-medical staff safely direct your call to the most appropriate professional, and so please be aware this will require you to answer some questions about the nature of your appointment.
