Dr Alafaka Tobin
Gender: Female
Dr Alafaka Tobin, one of our newest GP Partners at Corby, is looking forward to getting more involved in the day-to-day running of the practice. She says the surgery ‘is a perfect fit’ for her and values the teamwork, patients and ‘sense of purpose’. She also wants to get more involved in GP education and to support registrars and trainee doctors.
Dr Tobin finished her GP training, most of which was at Cottingham Road in Corby, in August last year, so it was a natural fit for her to continue working there as a salaried GP before becoming a Partner.
She said: ‘Partnership appealed to me as it offered an opportunity to be part of the day to day running of the practice. I am used to the people as well as the setting and I like the teamwork’. ‘Also, I have been working with the trainee GPs who come in for their rotation and I feel it is an opportunity to give back. Supporting them gives me a sense of fulfilment’.
‘I have an interest in medical education and have already started a post graduate training to enable me function as clinical and education supervisor. I also have an interest in women’s health particularly HRT’.
